The Siestas

The first few episodes of the final arc was mild and “family-friendly” until ep22 – a bloody mega killing-fest with some additional flavor. ouch for killer bunny girls with energy bow weapons doing fatality blows ^^||| The 3 episodes before ep22 were all backdrops of Maria, Ange and their sad past.

cuteness overload ?

Surprisingly, just when everything seems dull, ep21 shows a  twisting turn of Ange in 1998, acknowledging the 7 sisters of Purgatory and even Maria’s Sakutaro while on the other side of Ange’s story, Maria has fallen into hatred for her mum and decides to exact revenge – a cruel and mockery of her mum with the indirect help of Beatrice.

Ange, on the other hand was scary at times too, showing how a magic apprentice who denies the existence of the 7 sisters when she was still a school girl. With the deadly pieces on the chessboard in place, the story reversed back to 1986 where Kinzo summons the Siestas and carries out the twilight himself by calling out the Siestas on a bloody killing fest. The survivors, were trapped by Kinzo, leaving the grandchildren in the chessboard.

In addition, a new demon, Gaap was introduced as well, which got me pretty wtf at the pace of the story.

So, now we are back to the island, people dead, corpses were not shown (note to self – must take note of the killing sequences), Beatrice seems confident and Will Kinzo really get to manipulate the pieces by himself ?
