Umineko no Naku Koro Ni – 13 – gambit

With every episode of this arc, the revelation of the characters gets more in-depth, like the proliferation  of cells. Carrying on the previous episode, Rosa explains how she “killed” “Beatrice” which led to an eventual past on how she met her. It gets interesting especially with Ronove’s indirect involvement.

In this episode, we learn that Beatrice did exist on the island before, but died in an accident when she was with Rosa. Whether this is true or not was determined by the red words but what’s true is that there is a human “Beatrice” who lived on the island before and the garden which she was kept in did existed. Of course, the name “Beatrice” could refer to anyone in this game.  The other “red truth” mentioned was the fact there are indeed 18 people in the island, a setback for Battler who had thought that there were more than 18.

This is however something worth to take note, the facts were mentioned in “Beatrice”’s past.

Going at the pace of the story, the excitement should kick in in the next episode as Beatrice’s teacher made her appearance towards the end and had disguised herself as Kumasawa (the old lady). The 7 stakes of Purgatory have also made their full appearance (gah) as well, a showoff of their arrogance towards the furniture. Again, Beatrice shows hatred and anger towards Shannon’s choice of words against her, prolly a hint towards the story and also Beatrice’s hate towards such innocent feelings.

With this episode, the first twilight had been performed and the sacrifices were Kinzo (man, he is the first) and all the servants (except Kumasawa), makes you wonder how the members of the Ushiromiya family gonna handle the daily ongoings and the food in the upcoming episodes.
