Umineko no Naku Koro Ni – 05 – Witches’ Tea Party

Episode 5 of Umineko no Naku Koro Ni brings the “impossible” to the viewers and gives a startling surprise in the midst of the episode. Everyone died in the end but they appeared as normal in a room enjoying tea and cakes – claiming a bad ending for them. They have agreed on the witch while Battler remains confused and refuse to believe

In the end, the witch Beatrice did appear but Battler refuses to believe in her existence which is also a natural enemy of witches. I have to say the pace of the episode goes real right here and all this chessboard game is getting me hyped up. I really have to praise the storyboard for squeezing so much into this episode and introducing Lady Bernkastel and her involvement in the series as an observer. For those who have watched Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, you will notice something about her.

Lets see how this chess game will get interesting with Lady Beatrice’s involvement and how Battler will engage in a battle with her in explaining from the standpoint that the happenings are caused by a human. A battle of understanding vs magic.
