For those of you who have been watching my piano videos, you might notice that most, if not all of the piano songs I play are ‘sad’ songs.
So I wanted to try learning a ‘happy’ song, and Fun Fun Dayo is the perfect choice, because it’s easy to play ^_^
But since I’m terrible when it comes to keeping the same tempo throughout the whole song, this song becomes hard for me.
In the end, I recorded this while listening to the original song, and I still didn’t get the tempo right..
Well, I hope you enjoy this one anyway ^^

Another great soundtrack from CLANNAD. It was easy to learn, but it took me some time to play the whole song without stopping (figuring out which key to press next, lol) Anyway, enjoy ^^

A beautiful song from the anime Chobits.
This is actually the first song that I can play from the beginning tilll the end (with some note skipping, lol)
That was during the first month I got my keyboard.
18 months later, I learned the whole song again (with ease xD)

I got a new keyboard, yay! ^_^
I previously owned a Yamaha PSR E213, which served me well over the years..
But it was time to get a new one, mainly because I want to have one that is touch sensitive and I want more keys.
So I got a Yamaha DGX-530 Portable Grand.
It sounds like a Grand Piano all right (still can’t beat the real thing of course), but I’m not sure about the ‘portable’ part..
My first impression on the keyboard was “omg, that is one big keyboard”, this is coming from someone who was previously stuck with a 61-keys keyboard, lol..

I’m still not used to the touch sensitive thing though..
Especially when playing the parts where I have to press the keys harder, I always make mistakes there.
The only song that I can play with less mistakes is Lilium.
So used the song as an excuse to show off my new keyboard ^^

Overall, I LOVE my new keyboard, it looks awesome and sounds great.
The only bad part is..the keyboard won’t tell me which keys I’m pressing and their position on the sheet music..
Which is actually a good thing, now I can finally learn to play a song without its help, using the old fashioned way, reading sheet music..
Learning songs will take a longer time, but yeah, this is how I’m supposed to learn to play songs anyway ^_^

Well, time to study for tomorrow’s exams xD

The first time I heard the song was in the first scene in FFX, which is one of the first PS2 games that I played
It’s an amazing song, the song simply took my breath away when I first heard it..
That’s when I first thought that the piano is awesome, lol..
It’s a shame that I wasn’t able to finish the game, almost finished it..

Not really a fan of the series, but I have to say, this is an amazing song.
So much sad emotions are contained in this one song, and you have to admit that fact after listening to it for hundreds of episodes, in various scenes in the anime.
The song really means a lot to Naruto fans..

Honestly, I thought that this song was too advanced for me back then (only 17 months of piano playing)
But after 2 weeks of playing nothing but this song, I finally mastered (almost) this song, and it wasn’t easy, that’s for sure…

The Poem for Everyone’s Souls, also known as the Velvet Room song.
If you ask me, this is no doubt the best song Meguro Shoji composed, whereas the 2nd best is the rock version of the song (The Battle for Everyone’s Souls)
From the amazing voice, to the beautiful orchestra, everything is perfect.
The song is so amazing that it was used in not one, but two of my favorite video games, Persona 3 and Persona 4 (even though I haven’t played it yet, damned PS2..)
And I certainly didn’t the song justice here, just playing the piano is not enough to achieve the same level of epicness that the original song has, let alone playing with mistakes..lol..

And last but not least, Meguro Shoji FTW! ^_^

A V2 of my cover for this song, now with better sound quality and 6 instruments.
Well..actually, only 2 instruments, the strings and music box sound can be made using the keyboard, and since I don’t have a real bass, I used a 6-string one instead (bad idea, i know) ^_^

It has been 2 months since CLANNAD ~After Story~ ended, and this song brings back the memories of watching the anime.
The song really is the symbol of the sad scenes in the anime, tears flow each time the song is played, making it a song that is hard to forget, to me at least.
So I thought about it, and I’ve decided to give the song another try, and it was done after 7 hours of recording and editing.

Dear You is a beautiful song sang by Yuzuki, but I wish I could say the same for the anime (sorry, not a fan..)
A pretty simple song to play, especially the left hand part which repeats the same notes throughout the whole song.

I know, I played the song too fast in the 2nd half somehow.
For some reasons, I make less mistakes when playing a fast song..^^

Sakura & Jyunichi’s Promise, or Sakura to Junichi no Yakusoku, a song from the anime, Da Capo. You might not be familiar with this song, but this song has been one of my favorite since I first listened to it. This song is actually the song that inspired me to pick up the piano in the first place, and it’s the first song I tried to learn after a picked up the piano last year. Of course, I wasn’t able to play the song at that time, but now, after a year, I finally did it ^_^

Sakura & Jyunichi’s Promise is the hardest song I learned on the piano so far. I can play the song, but for some reason, I sometimes forget the next part of the song, then I have to repeat the whole song all over again.. And the best thing about playing the song is that my hands move on it’s own. It’s like, I don’t know which key to press if you ask me that, but I can play the song with my hands moving naturally on it’s own.. Well, perhaps that’s a normal thing, I guess..

Anyway, Da Capo has some of the most amazing piano pieces out there (sadly, there are only a few of them), and this is the best among them. Seriously, the song needs more attention and more people needs to listen to amazing pieces like this. I mean, no one did a piano cover of the song on YouTube (other than me, of course), and no one even uploaded the original song..

Also, today is the 2nd anniversary of the creation of my YouTube account ^_^

If you ask me what’s the most epic anime opening ever, or even the most epic song ever, Lilium is no doubt my top choice. I fell in love with the song before I even watched the anime, and I love it even more after watching Elfen Lied (a year later..). The song gives more meaning if you have watched the anime, seriously. Lilium contributes half of the epicness in Elfen Lied, especially in the sad scenes.

So..I just had to try the song on the piano. It was a very hard song for me to play at that time, but after practicing countless of times, I was finally able to play it. Even though the piano version is no where near as epic as the original one, I felt like the song was meant to be played on the piano. Playing the song is fun, and it’s one of my favorite songs to play on the piano..

And..you know what, it took me more than 100 tries to play this song perfectly..(almost)
Yea, I’m that bad at the piano..
But I got better thanks to that ^_^

With this video, I have taken my video recording to a whole new level. You must have noticed that this video sounds more ‘professional’ than my previous ones. Well, I didn’t record the audio by using my crap camera. I plugged my keyboard to my PC instead, and used Adobe Audition 3.0 to record the audio, while the camera only records the video. Then I sync the video using Adobe Premier Pro CS4. Expect my future videos to be of the same quality (hopefully) ^_^

Anyway, Karma from Ever 17 is an amazing piece. The moment I started playing the visual novel and heard the song, I was amazed and touched, and I knew right away that this is one awesome visual novel (and it certainly is). The song gives more meaning to those who have finished any route in the game, really…

The piano and the strings part are played by me. Took me some time to learn the piano part, but the strings part is easy if you know how to play the piano part (lol). The song is pretty hard to learn, but it’s fun to play, and the feeling of playing the piano while crying is great..

And I recommend this game to all visual novel lovers. I’ve only completed 2 routes, but planning to finish the whole game soon. It’s a really good game, that really needs more attention ^_^

This is the first time I ever attempted at doing this, the multiple videos in a single video thing.

Umm..yea, I can play the piano. Been learning for less than a year now, a self-taught pianist (since teachers are boring and they never teach anime songs) xD
Well, I’m gonna start with something simple, Dango Daikazoku/Nagisa from CLANNAD. Of course I can play more complex songs, but I just had to make Dango Daikazoku my first for some unknown reasons..
Oh yea, did I mention that this is my first YouTube video, and the first time I uploaded a part of me (hands) on teh internet..(lol)
You’ll be seeing more of this to come, and I can play the guitar too.
