I’ve watched this video on another animeblog, and I believe there are lots of K-ON fans here, so I will be sharing it here as well.
The song is covered by a Japanese Pop group “SCANDAL“.
Proclaiming themselves as “The Most Powerful Japanese Girlie Pop Rock”, their more noticeable work recently, will be the song Shoujo S, which is used Bleach 10th opening theme.
To be honest, their rendition of this song is bad, real bad in my opinion.
Well, I’m no musician, producer or judge, but as a music lover who went to gigs oftenly.
I feel that the drums beats and guitar improvisations are just weird, the drumming just doesn’t fit with the guitars, and the ending jamming/solo is weak and cheesy.
At least they cut down on their “dance moves” in this live cover, in compared to their Shoujo S PV.
This is rock, not some pop dance group.
Which is so hard to watch, and they self proclaim themselves as the most powerful japanese girl rock (ok, pop-rock) band.
Where’s the soul, feel, and rock in them?
The only thing that gives any redemption is this live cover song, will be the drummer’s smile throughout the performance.
Niconi school version of Don’t say “lazy” is so so much better than SCANDAL’s rendition.
Watch it, and compare it yourself.
So, what’s your thought after watching both videos?

Chatmonchy is better.
You’re right. Nor I like their version of Don’t Say Lazy. NicoNico is much better.
It’s pretty good but needs the keyboard, though!
Maybe the group will include it in one of their future albums! Maybe!
