Folks from Joystiq have mentioned that Sega today confirmed to Joystiq that the two developers are working together on the title, its title known simply as “Sonic 4 Episode I” which is being developed by Sonic Team in cooperation with Dimps.
Been a while since I played Sonic, childhood days were fun with 2D scroller games such as Sonic.. :3

I can’t wait for this game because it looks like the first Sonic game to come out in years that follows the style of the old school games. I haven’t been playing the newer Sonic games since the early 2000s because I don’t like them that much. But this is one I definitely want to check out because I still love the old school games.
