Natural Selection was the FPS games on the PC that really caught me during my school days. It’s a FPS that features marine Frontiersman against the aliens known as the Kharaa. Unlike the typical shoot-them-all team deathmatch, this game has a RTS element where on the marine side there is a commander that oversees the team mates in birds eye view (just like a RTS) while the aliens can evolve into higher lifeforms.
In Natural Selection 2, it gets better, featuring better graphics, lighting and physics. Gameplay has also been enhanced which includes dynamic infestation. You can read more here
