Ouch! It seems like Modern Warfare 2 will have no support for dedicated servers. Yup, you cant just go create a server now but rather depend on Infinity Ward’s IWnet matchmaking technology. It is a definitely a new change in the trend that IW is going and I am sure a lot of players are definitely not pleased with such an annoucement.
I foresee a possibility that DLCs for MW2 will be payable even for the PC and a lack of custom maps/mods in MW2. Under the new framework, one wonders how clan matches or training, which once depended on renting of private servers will go about.
