Washinomiya Shrine, one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan is one of the well known shrines for its long known history and traditional dances and culture. A new culture is now hot and ongoing there for some time – The Otaku Pilgrimage

Reported by various sites from Japan and also on Dannychoo.com, over 300k visitors have flocked to the shrine over the first few days of New Year. One of the main reasons for otakus to flock there was due to a popular anime – Lucky Star, featuring 2 sisters – Kagami and Tsukasa working as shrine maidens there.

To mark this event, Goodsmile came up with Lucky Star Nendo petit series in exclusive New Year Greeting” capsule versions.

According to DannyChoo.com,

One cant buy the whole set and need to pay 500 yen to play Omikuji – a Japanese tradition where one sticks their hand in a box and grabs (in this case) a ball that contains the Nendoroid.
