Are You Ready For A PS3 Slim ?

Speculations. Everywhere. With recent news that the 80GB model will be phasing out in Japan and rumored pictures of a potential PS3 slim around the web, it just might be true that we will get to  see a PS3 slim retailing early next year (or perhaps..end of this year?) . The latest rumor suggests that Sony might reveal the PS3 slim in Gamescom in August 18th. Gamers might be happy to get their hands on one of the PS3 slim when it retails.

Being a owner of PS1, PS1 slim (dead), PS2, PS2 slim (overheats at times) and PS3,  the PS3 slim is giving me some potential worries – heat. My Playstation 3 gets warm pretty easily if my aircon ain’t on so having a slim PS3 ain’t giving me the slack that I have to switch on my aircon everytime I game for a long time.

Have you guys ever encounter your Playstation dying on you cos of heat ? My PS2 does although it can be rectified by just turning it off and let it cool down. After all, it has a thermo sensor that shuts down the PS2 when it reaches a certain temperature threshold.

18th August ain’t far away and I am pretty much excited to see what news might come out, as for buying the PS3 slim, not planning to because I just got my PS3 not long ago (lol!).
