Seiransai 2009

P1100216

Went down to Waseda Senior High for the annual Seiransai, which would be what we commonly know as “school festival”.

It is only my second year attending the event and it was loads of fun.

Apparently, they were more concerned with the flu this year and set up a few health measures such as alcohol based anti-bacterial sprays and giving out face masks.

I am OK!

Just like last year, the place was very lively and stalls were set up in the class rooms.

I heard the stalls were the same every year from someone but still, going with your friends is still fun.

Setting up for a performance. They sang God Knows ^^

They actually look more like two melon bread to me…

This time round, I went down earlier and managed to get my food tickets before they were sold out.

Sad to say, those who came late or did not have the foresight to buy their food tickets early had to bear with empty stomachs (like I did last year).

Meron pan!!! \( ^w^ )/

No idea what that is. It looks creepy.

Awesome bento

Naturally there were many game stalls set up and I went around to trying a few of them.

As usual, the horror/haunted house had permanently long queues so I made do with  trying out the other stalls that provided games or screen their self-made movies (No not one about a certain moe maid).

GARest Pichu I have ever seen

They also had cultural rooms displaying some aspects of Japanese culture and articles showcasing the students’ work.

I was surprised to find bamboo with tanzaku (small strips of paper to write your wishes on) available for anyone who wants to make a wish.

Of course, you have to make sure your wish is in line with your future 16 or 25 years later.

There were also ema “tablets” for you to write your wishes on and hang. I noticed some interesting wishes. XD

Don’t forget the delay!

Someone needs to study more :3

Overall I had a great time down there with friends.

I can only say I look forward to the next one.
