Officially my romcom fix for this season.
I have a soft spot for shows like this that take the girls point of view in a relationship. Throw in some comedy and I am sold. :3
This certainly seems like it potentially will do as well as Itazura na KISS and Skip Beat, both awesome romcoms in my book. 3 episodes in and I have been finding myself going “AWWWWW” at all those sweet little moments. Perhaps it is a welcome change from too much hot blooded action.
The “Sadako” joke while amusing started to wear a little at episode 2 so it was a good thing that stopped it in episode 3. I can appreciate it though, I do have friends whom I have so gotten used to calling by nickname I just can’t call them anything else =P
The chibi art in the show, while cute, does come across as overkill though. While I.G does return Sawako to “human form” in the crucial relationship building moments, I feel they could cut down abit more on the chibi depictions of Sawako and use more “proper” art. Perhaps I.G is trying to sell the innocent nature of Sawako or make her transformation through the show more obvious (like comparing the below pic to the top pic)?

“Why am I the only one with a chibi-fied face?”
The show’s got a nice catchy and sweet OP too.
If you watch romcoms perhaps you should give this a shot.
I certainly recommend it. :3

i dont find the op particularly catchy, but i might watch it due to mamiko-sama!!
I’m hooked on this series now even though I watched it with no idea what it was. I think visually it’s one of the best animes I’ve watched. The watercolor backgrounds are amazing.
For me the ED theme is the catchier one. I’m a sucker for Chara though.
Notodoke is Noto in 2D.
