Final Fantasy VII is a legendary game. Also legendary are the long delays between American PSN releases and European PSN releases. The Mayan Apocalypse seems like it’s gotten closer than ever, because a European PSN release was ON TIME… OH SHI-
The ungrateful but strangely happy Europeans who commented on the European Playstation Blog entry which announced the arrival of Final Fantasy VII on PSN, proceeded to hassle SCEE for even more outrageous demands such as Resident Evil 1 Director’s Cut on PSN’s European Store. Not content with something they were getting at a time that would be considered early by European standards, European Playstation Blog commenters proceeded to grumble even though they got what they asked for. It is assumed SCEE now knows what Nintendo America feels like when the new Zelda: Spirit Tracks was announced for Nintendo DS.
It is unknown what the cosmic implications of an early release of a PSN game in Europe will entail, but it is likely that the moon will crash into Planet Earth’s surface in 2012 at the very latest.
Final Fantasy VII is now available as a PSN title for both Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable. Not that it makes European gamers any more grateful they are getting it at all.
